Doing Solyndra Over Again

The path that led to the Solyndra bankruptcy is being re-traced by the White House. I posted a month ago that Barack Obama was “doubling down on the Solyndra model.” I’m sure I wasn’t the only person thinking of what happened to Solyndra at the time, but yesterday I saw someone else mention it. Katie Tubb writes at the Daily Signal, “The Lessons From Solyndra Still Haven’t Been Learned.” The similarities between what the Executive Branch is doing now and what they did before are Read more […]

Barack Obama Doubling Down on the Solyndra Model

Liberals think the next Solyndra will work if only the President enacts enough regulations. The only lesson Liberals in power are capable of “learning,” it seems, is that they didn’t use enough power the last time they failed. If they had only found a way to provide more money, regulate more strictly, tax more heavily, or exercise more power in some other way, then all their plans would succeed. I’ve been told more than once that if you’re young and don’t find socialism attractive you don’t have a heart, but if you’re old and find socialism attractive you don’t have a head. But what we need to realize is that if you are old and want socialism it is probably because you don’t have a heart but do have a head for figuring out how to buy friends and influence Read more […]

Obama Continues to Pick the Losers in a Failing Economy

Compact Power is the name of a manufacturing plant built in Michigan and owned by a South Korean company called LG Chem. The plant was built with $150 million of taxpayer money. They were supposed to build batteries for the Chevy Volt, a vehicle produced by “Government” Motors that has yet to do anything except lose money. The taxpayer funded batteries plant hasn’t even produced 1 battery yet, and now, 2 years after they received the taxpayer money, they’re having to furlough their workers. Read more […]
