The White House Defends Planned Parenthood by Repeating Their Talking Points

When the White House defends Planned Parenthood they don’t even pretend to have an independent point of view.

When the White House defends Planned Parenthood and condemns the videos from the Center for Medical Progress as “fraudulent” they don’t do so by making any kind of independent investigation. In fact, they are too shameless to even pretend to be independent. You have to watch this video from Breitbart to believe how shameless they can be:

As reports,

When asked by Breitbart News’ White House reporter Charlie Spiering if anyone in the White House has watched the videos, Earnest replied:

“I suspect somebody has.”

And when asked where the White House was getting their information that the videos were fraudulent, Earnest answered:

“Based on the public comments of Planned Parenthood who has indicated that the views that are represented in the video are entirely inconsistent with the high ethical standards that they live up to.”

When asked if anyone from Planned Parenthood has been in touch with the White House, Earnest replied:

“I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s taken place, but I’m not aware of any specific conversations.”

Earnest did not dispute Breitbart News’s characterization of the White House’s position as taken from Planned Parenthood talking points.

So keep that in mind when you read summaries like this CNN report:

The White House on Thursday dismissed the latest video accusing Planned Parenthood of selling fetal organs and tissue, calling the group behind the sting “extremists on the right.”

“There’s ample reason to think that this is merely the tried and true tactic that we have seen from some extremists on the right to edit this video and selectively release an edited version of the video that grossly distorts the position of the person who is actually speaking on the video,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said. “And Planned Parenthood has indicated that’s what has occurred here.

So in its own biased way, the CNN confirms what we see in the video. When the White House defends Planned Parenthood, it simply asks Planned Parenthood what is really true, and then parrots it in the media.
