Tracking Down the Palm Aire Child Immigration Deal

As you probably know by now, the Feds have given your tax money to Baptist Child & Family Services to buy and run a luxury resort hotel for illegal immigrant children. I immediately wondered if there was a crony bailout involved.

We don’t know the answer to that question yet. But a few facts have surfaced thanks to a little digging by Bob Allen.

Let me start with a basic Yelp page, establishing the property address:

Palm Aire Hotel & Suites

415 S International Blvd

Weslaco, TX 78596

If you will follow the link you will see the same picture of the property that Gateway Pundit used.

Our next website is the Hidalgo County, Texas Property tax record. Here you will see a company called “HOT WELLS INV LTD.” And they have an investment property:

Property Site Address:

Legal Description:

Last Payer for Current Year Taxes:

So, with that information in mind, we go to the Bizpaedia entry for Hot Wells Inv LTD.

Hot Wells Inv., Ltd. is a Texas Limited Partnership filed on August 24, 2001. The company’s filing status is listed as In Good Standing Not For Dissolution Or Withdrawal and its File Number is 0800005213.

The Registered Agent on file for this company is Anita G. Lozano and is located at C/O Jones, Galligan, Key & Lozano, L.l.p. 2300 W. Weslaco, TX 78596. The company’s principal address is 1317 E Hackberry Ave Mcallen, TX 78501-5702.

Anita G. Lozano probably doesn’t mean much to most people. But this leads us to our final web page, a news story about a Democrat campaign donor: “Anita G Lozano pours money into Democrat Congressional campaign.” This is an old story from 2004. But it may still be relevant:

A Weslaco donor’s cash is supercharging Democrat efforts to control the US House.

Anita G Lozano gave $1000.00 to the Congressional campaign of Leticia Hinojosa (D) on 02/05/2004, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC.)

Anita G Lozano, whose occupation is reported in campaign filings as “Attorney” and employer as “Self-Employed,” made their contribution payable to Leticia Hinojosa for Congress.

Again, this is a decade ago. But certainly what Bob could find in a few minutes ought to get some journalist interested in what other information might (or might not) turn up.
