The Navy Secretary announces we must have more women soldiers for the Navy and the Marines.
CNS News reports, “Navy Secretary: ‘We Don’t Have Enough Women in Navy or Marine Corps’”
“We don’t have enough women in either the Navy or the Marine Corps, and we’ve got to do a better job of recruiting and we’ve got to do a better job of retaining those women,” Navy Secretary Raymond Mabus Jr. said on Thursday.
He told a gathering at the National Press Club that he’s in the process of changing the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps uniforms — “so that when you look out, you see American sailors and Marines, not particularly female sailors or male sailors…And this is symbolic in terms of not segregating women, of making sure that they are substantively and symbolically the heart of our force, power.”
There is no segregating going on. It is free will. Not every woman wants to be a soldier.
This is pretty much irrelevant to women in the military. Even though three women have passed the Combat Endurance Test, that is not nearly enough to fulfill the demands of a Feminist quota system. Just like the Marine chin-up requirement, eventually the Combat Endurance Test will be made easier for women.
Was this because few women can do three pull-ups?
I doubt it.
No, the problem is that not enough of the women who can do three or more pull-ups want to be women soldiers.
So now we are told that it is up to the Marines and the Navy to change in order to attract and retain these women.
This is completely insane. The job of the military, if it is at all legitimate, is to defend the United States in the most effective way possible. It is not some laboratory for politically correct social experiments.
More specifically, the military needs soldiers who want to be soldiers. Propaganda that convinces other kinds of women to become women soldiers can only backfire.
