Harry Reid Blocks Senate ObamaCare Repeal Vote

How often did we hear in the 2000 election to “count all the votes”? It was the daily mantra of the Democrats. When the Iranians were finally able to vote in an election, they held up their purple-stained fingers in jubilation. Liberals were reluctantly pleased.

Elections in Libya and Egypt thrilled the Democrats. Finally Democracy had come to these backward, dictatorial nations.

Something happens in the United States when the people vote. California’s Proposition 8 that outlawed homosexual marriage won with a majority vote. But all it took was one judge to overturn the vote of the people. Democracy in action only goes so far with the Democrats.

A vote was taken the other day in the House of Representatives to repeal Obamacare.

The repeal bill went through on a 244–185 vote. Five Democrats ended up fleeing the liberal plantation. Reps. Mike Ross, D-Ark.; Dan Boren, D-Okla.; Mike McIntyre, D-N.C.; Larry Kissell, D-N.C.; and Jim Matheson, D-Utah, all voted yes to repeal.

Let’s give the Republicans some credit. They stuck together for once. Let’s see if they can do it two times in a row.

The problem is that Harry Reid (D-NV) will not allow the vote to come to the floor in the Senate. Both houses have to approve the repeal. What is Harry Reid afraid of? Is he protecting Senators who might have a hard time in the November election? Is he afraid the repeal might actually go through?

If voting in Iran, Libya, and Egypt is good for those countries, then certainly voting in what was the most free nation in the world should be a good thing. Or have we become a dictatorship led by Harry Reid?

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney called the vote an exercise to score political points, saying this is the kind of display Americans “loathe about politics in Washington.” No big surprise here. Of course it was done to score political points. There are two political parties. Everything they do is about politics. If not, there wouldn’t be two political parties.

What the American people loathe is the tactics of someone like Harry Reid who will not allow the repeal bill to come to the floor of the Senate.

Why should the vote of the people be overturned by the politicians who have their own interests in place? Including judges! And why do We the People give career politicians
like Harry Reid power to trump our vote? Harry needs to go & we need to elect someone who represents our interests. Harry, it is not ‘me the people’….it’s ‘We the People’…..

If Senator Reid doesn’t allow the bill to come to the floor for a vote I will just have to assume that all Democratic Senator’s would have voted against the appeal so let’s vote then all out of office this November. I am a registered Democrat thats tired of the games of Pelosi and Reid and that they are not only doing to my country but our way of life, they are ruining the Democratic Party does any good Democrat see this.

The President blames Republicans in congress for not doing anything. They have voted and passed multiple bills and budgets. They send them to the Senate, run by Democrats, who refuse to even vote on them. Tell me, who is it that refuses to do their job. I say Harry Reed and all Dems in the Senate. As many of them need to be replaced in this next election as possible.,

Our system of the senate is designed to allow the senate majority leader to determine policy, but the citizens need to have oversight on the majority leader’s decisions.
