How Liberals Captured the Nation through ‘Free’ Education

The first two questions that a prospective parent asks about a new school: (1) Are the teachers certified and (2) is the school accredited? The two questions that should come to mind are (1) certified and accredited by whom and (2) for what ultimate purpose?

Accreditation and certification guidelines have been used by the political left to capture the robes of academia. The educational elite in America are not interested in education but in full indoctrination into a worldview that accepts the reality of central planners.

Teacher certification is not a test of competency. If it were, our nation’s public schools would be the best in the world. Consider Detroit where all the teachers are certified:

“In the public schools in Detroit, Mich., according to the U.S. Department of Education, only 7 percent of the eighth graders are grade-level proficient or better in reading.

“Detroit public-school eighth graders do even worse in math than they do in reading, according to the Department of Education. While only 7 percent scored highly enough on the department’s National Assessment of Educational Progress test in 2011 to be rated ‘proficient’ or better in reading, only 4 percent scored highly enough to be rated “proficient” or better in math.

“Statewide in Michigan, only 32 percent of public-school eighth graders scored grade-level proficient or better in reading, and only 31 percent scored grade-level proficient or better in math.”

Education was one of the first areas dictator would control. He knew that in order to stay in power, he would have to have the next generation in his ideological pocket. The best way to ensure his future regency was to indoctrinate the children.

Adolf Hitler understood why capturing the educational system was the road to long-term victory. The following is from William L. Shirer’s book The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich:

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’ [Adolf Hitler] said in a speech on November 6, 1933, “I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already. . . . What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’” And on May 1, 1937, [Hitler] declared, “This new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.”1

Why are young people adopting a liberal, politically progressive ideology? Because they’ve been taught to think this way for the greater part of of their young life – 6 hours each day, 5 days a week, 10 months of every year for 12 years.

The majority of parents have been sold a bill of goods with the narcotic called “free education.” Today’s government educators are like drug dealers. They give you a taste of the drug for free until you’re hooked. Before you know it, you’re addicted and you’ve lost your soul. In the case of government-controlled education, we’re about to lose our nation.

Education was turned into ‘indoctrination’ way back in the 60s, so what else is new??
That’s why we have so many idiot liberals under the age of 50 and there is NO backup for the ‘Greatest Generation’ that has been dying off like ‘good sense!!’

    • parlayer

      VingoVince, you got it!

  • ARMYOF69

We need all parents to “pitch” in with expenses to educate their children. Since they have to donate nothing, but steal that money from people who have worked hard to own a home, why would they complain about the stupidity of their children coming out of schools that hardly teach anything except contempt for WHITEY and AMERICA?

    • Laddy

So. It looks like y guys are doomed since whites with $2 haircuts are a dying breed kinda like dinosaurs, It was nice while it lasted. Suggest y start smoking dope to help y feel better. Move to CO or WA. they like everyone.

      • Red Blues

y are u so bitter? I normally don’t use the texting slang found on my cell phone to present my ideas on a public forums but wanted to make sure you understood what is being said.

The talking points you use are soooo old and tired that my brain aches when this sort of drivel is what passes for reasoned debate. Of course, you will probably have to use a dictionary (or more than likely just ignore) any of these big words that are found on this page. Can’t be bothered with those who you see as below you right?

Now – today – this moment in time is new and unique, yet the arguments (or really talking points) you try to put into your own words have failed you. Just as the students in our public schools are being failed… But I repeat myself.

Please try not to think about all of this to much because the government will be sending people who will help you know what to say and what to think. Don’t worry… It’s for your own good and the betterment of society according to them. Of course, you could grow a pair and learn to think for yourself … But that would involve use of that gray matter in your skull… Or is that gravel ?
I really can’t tell by the sound of the rattling it’s making…

      • grassroot

You should be made to live for a few years in venezuela under chavez to get

        preview of ” coming attractions.”

  • Midge

Hey I get it. If you non commie good conservative Christians were teaching those poor black kids they would be stellar Students. So how come y don’t take that over. I mean sounds like a piece of cake. Can’t be all those complex problems of black people. If they all were put in Little homes and read the bible and taught by nice little Christian ladies, they would be top of the class. But hey we ruling Lib would never stand for that. So guess y guys are doomed to live with commie educated dumb people who will be multiplying like rabbits, talking on free cell phones and vote for whatever Dem they are told to vote for. Or better, Obama will become the dictator and get rid of all that silly voting. You guys are brilliant. Too bad y can’t do what we now know y should do, Oh And did you get those RF micro chips yet. Old and new black panthers are out delivering. Make sure they don’t get yiur guns. They are black and dressed in black. Very scary.

    • Red Blues

You seem to have a problem with people who disagree with you. Just guessing, but are you even out of school yet? You make a very strong case for the points addressed in the article above. While the concepts of logic and reason and critical thinking can still be understood, today’s schools are not in the business of anything less than indoctrination.

I do remember back when I too was was young and foolish (and sadly voted for the lies offered by the leftists), I heard that organizers were seeking to ‘stick it to the man’ by getting into the halls of power and making changes from within. Well, that apple for the teacher was rotten to the core and nothing less than a revolution will cure it.

So pack what little logic and critical thinking skills you have because the age of free thinkers is over and a new age of concern for each other, better opportunities for all and a love for the founding principles are right around the corner. Get with the program or get out of the way.

      Have a wonderful day, pilgrim.

      • Midge

no I’m not young and taught school for many years so I do understand the challenges of teaching a wide range of kids with varying backgrounds, IQS and other complex factors. I and my fellow teachers used excellent public school texts which are heavy into critical thinking skills as well as the basics of English, history, math, science. I taught English. I was successful with some % but there were some I never reached. I’m sure y would rather just blame that on Commie teachers, unions whatever the latest right wing doctrine dictates. There is some amazing work going on in education on how to best teach in our current “wired” society to a very diverse population. Again, something might rather think is just commie bull, but trust me this is the future of America. Home schooling can be great or disastrous, Depends on the teacher and material being used. Teaching critical thinking skills is not very easy. All current public school education is far from indoctrination. Why y guys harp in that without looking at the complex problem is beyond me. Pat answers show a huge lack of critical thinking skills. FYI I am a good little Christian lady, no welfare, no unions (there are only 18 states with unions), have nicely educated kids. So don’t call me a lib commie. Not.

        • Red Blues

Lady, forgive me if I misunderstood your sarcasm. My children all attend public schools and have been fortunate to have many in our district here in Illinois, that share your view. The problem is that many of your colleagues will buy into what is being proffered as current and best pedagogy by the national accociations but do not use due diligence before applying in the classroom.

Since I knew that my children will have to live in the world we have, I did not go with home or private schooling. That is so I can use what they are being taught as a starting point in developing their critical thinking skills. No, not easy and not for the feint at heart.

I do know however that administrators have to see that their schools have to follow the current laws as set forth in the ‘No child left behind’ legislation. So we have teachers who must teach to the test or face the consequences. Speaking privately with the teachers in my area, the fact that this approach leaves little time for using those wonderful textbooks you mention just shows that the money spent was a waste… A book is nothing more than a block of wood when left unopened and unread upon the shelf.

        • Red Blues

Sorry for the typos…posting from my iPad and the Disqus system has issues playing nicely with it.

One further thought… question actually… Since you state that you teach English, have the rules concerning the use of the paragraph changed?
          Just wondering…

        • Ruggedlark

See. Now you are just being mean.

You teachers need to lighten up. A child’s first teacher is their parent. So. We know where very much of the bad stuff comes from.

        • Red Blues

I am simply asked a question. Someone once said that the truth is not ‘mean’… it’s truth or put another way, “It is what it is” in the current vernacular.

Too many who claim to be ‘teachers’ show little or no concern for the example they are setting. I do know that the prime rule in writing long passages is to make it so that it can be comprehended by the reader.

I do agree with , parents are the child’s first teacher and should be the one all others are compared to. But there is a real problem with the education system and comments from teachers here seem to give us a clue.

Speaking only for myself, my three children are:

25 yr old graduated from UIUC with a degree in business. Worked during school and got a job at a bank then used that position to become CEO of a small local credit union. She then did a full audit of their books and decided to request permission from the board to pursue a merger with another small credit union.

18 yr old graduating from HS in a few months and just today told told me that she’s also been accepted into the UIUC school of education (accepted at ISU two weeks ago and actively courted at three other private schools to play tennis). She has a passion for teaching.

Youngest is 15 with a head still full of mush but he gets decent grades for not doing homework and no studying. He does have a goal of getting into vet med (he was invited to join the chess club, works on the marching band and the football team – went from the freshman squad to the varsity as a first year sophomore), I have no doubt that he’ll be able to do so.

My family’s results are not typical but *can* be achieved by any parent willing to take an active role in their child’s education.

What greater task do we have as a society?

Me and the wife also work with other youth in our community (Sunday school at church, mentoring programs within the school, $$ to assist those who need it).

It may take a village to raise a child but it takes people stepping out of their comfort zone to make that vital contribution. A ‘village’ is a concept – not a person. That’s the only real way to counter all the ‘bad stuff’ you mention.

        • Ruggedlark

Red Blues. I too occasionally point out grammatical errors, and I know I’m not perfect. Sometimes a person has much to say about a subject esp. when they feel they are being attacked.

Congratulations on the successful outcome of your oldest son and the impending success for the rest of your children…

My oldest is attending OSU working on computer science. My daughter, graduating this next year (13) will attend as well, Engineering. And one is left in HS. Good boy. Not studious.

And. After spending many hours volunteering in the schools, after school with the boy scouts, trucking kids back and forth to sports programs and chaperoning field trips, I too think I’ve don’t rather well. But. Its a family thing. Homeschooled for a bit. And learned quite a lot.

I feel that we as parents need to know who our kids are hanging out with, what they are doing and who their parents are. Fortunately, 4-H helped out a whole lot. Involvement there too.

Not sure it take a village. It takes knowing people, and trusting who they are. And holding people accountable along the way.

        • Rocknrobyn

How amusing…I, too, was wondering how she could be an English teacher, but thought my age played a factor. I was taught proper grammer long ago, but so thoroughly that I never forgot it. I presumed that the proper way of speaking and writing must have changed.

        • Red Blues

Rocknrobyn, I understand what you mean.

I drive my children crazy because I refuse to use ‘txt spk’ (text speak) when replying to their text messages.

When I see that form of writing used on a discussion forum where there is little or no concern for the ‘character count’ of a comment, I ask myself if the whole world has just gotten lazy or if they have simply stopped caring.

          Probably a bit of both.

        • Ruggedlark

The complex problem you speak of, is parents who have no business being one. Kids are not an accessory. Too many parents-and I use this term loosely-have no business raising kids.

I had a favorite teacher in HS. His being there kept me involved in learning. Substitute father figure. He didn’t indoctrinate. Although there were things he said that would anger me, he spoke truthfully. Not all teachers are bad. But the bad ones, are terrible.

          Don’t take it personally.

        • Red Blues

          Well stated!

  • Bobseeks

Our education system is like a giant intestine – children go in one end, everything good in them is sucked out of them by the marxist teachers, and then little liberals are squeezed out the other end as human waste. It is time to put an end to public mis-education.

    • Carl Stevenson

That’s a GREAT analogy … It REALLY tells it like it is!

    • JRJ

I couldn’t agree more. Well stated.

    • anonymous

Could you elaborate as to where you get your sources about how “marxist teachers” suck the good out of children? Or are you referring to how the education stopped them from believing in Noah’s ark like you told them when they were six?

      • Bobseeks

Yawn – another lying, useful idiot of the left. We just saw the proof in Newtown, fool and we will see it time and time again until we put GOD back in our schools and replace the marxists of the AFT and NEA. If you want more proof, ask yourself “Who did the teacher’s unions support for president?” Answer – the atheist/communist mao-bama, that’s who.

        • anonymous

You are assuming that everyone in the education system is atheist and of
the left and center. You are also assuming Obama is anywhere near socialist and is atheist, which his policies are very far from.

Not to mention what you said about Newton is flawed. A 20 year old psychopath with mental issues shot those people. And I fail to see how “marxist teachers” sucked the good out of the children in Newton. Unless you are referring to the education system being responsible for making psychopaths.

  • parlayer

My mother was a teacher, we rarely speak, she is so liberal I can’t stand her. “Angry, one sided, she was a good neg.role model although it took me getting out of the military (which I joined the day i turned 18, to get away from home, not to kill) to find out who my parents were. I love them, but they are dingo heads.

  • tncdel

Gary DeMar: Please reprogram yourself to not lump together the commie-socialist “progressives” that you mean in this article with true Liberals. A true Liberal is almost the polar opposite. Capisce?

  • Silas Longshot

Dear old Mom taught public school second grade for 35 years, fighting the system and never joined a union. And her kids could all read and do math ABOVE their grade level when she was done with them. Sadly, today’s “teachers” that do have the drive to really educate kids are straigh-jacketed by the system and the unions to crank out good little citizens as directed by the feds. That’s why recent college grads are brilliant in their field but stupid in their ‘world skills’ after years of hard core leftists packing their heads full of leftist BS.

  • SniperToo

I have been trying to open the eyes of parents for the last 30 years. Put your children in private schools or home school. Get them out of the public commie schools. Too many lazy parents who don’t get a dam about their children,

    • Ruggedlark

Frankly, hasn’t that been the problem for decades-parents comfortable with letting someone else raise their kids? Daycare. Headstart. Public School. and then College…

I found homeschooling to be informative and rewarding. A family makes sacrifices of course, but better to live simply than sacrifice your children.

  • Charles Wenzel

Hey Midge, Blah, blah, blah…so then how do you explain the stats in the article? Such a counter-productive system is indefensible. And it hasn’t always been this way in the American educational system, which in decades past was at or near the top. When the progressive NEA took over they started it on the road to ruin.

My mom was a school teacher for 40 years and lived during its transition from quality to demise. Like the proverbial “frog boiled in originally tepid water,” the gutting of education has taken some time and is hard for libs to see as the many I know find it expedient to ignore history: ancient and recent.

The capture of our nation’s educational institutions is no surprise to me since I had unkowningly been invited to an American Communist Party meeting in New York City by elderly next door neighbor who asked if I would accompany him to the meeting. After my parents granted me permission to go; I couldn’t believe to what I was listening to? It sounded like the overthrow of the United States Government?
A member stood up and asked; “How can we accomplish anything when we are such a small party”?” A speaker approached the podium and said; “The key word is ‘infiltration.'” At the time I didn’t know what the heck the word ‘infiltration’ meant until I went home and look it up in the dictionary. The speaker began to elaborate and said; “We are going to ‘infiltrate’ the major political party [Democratic Party], the news medias, labor unions, educational institutions across America, and any other organization we can use to our advantage.”
After the meeting was over a burly man grabbed me by the arm and took me to the side of the auditorium and said; “If you expose anything that was said at this meeting; we’ll make you disappear.” Do you know how frightening this was to a fifteen year old boy? I never told anyone about this threat ever, until a few years ago. This incident occurred in 1947, and I have never forgotten every word spoken at the American Communist Party meeting. The only way I was able to fight back was to become a member of the United States Armed Forces.
I didn’t have to warn anyone about the American Communist Party’s takeover of our nation because the late Director of the FBI J. Edgar Hoover shortly after my experience, he warned the Congress and the American people. So did the late Senator Joseph R. McCarthy of Wisconsin. The American Communist Party [Democratic Party] applied their “Communist Rule for Revolution” book at the Senator and destroyed him by ‘character’ assassination under Section (B) 3. “Destroy the people’s faith in their national leaders by holding the latter up to contempt and ridicule.” They used the same rule book against Governor Sarah Palin and several other American patriots, and let’s not forget what they did to the U.S. Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney.
If only Americans can put themselves outside an imaginary circle and look in; you will able to see our nation being destroyed from within. Don’t become one of many who will later chant… “How could this have happened in America? Why didn’t somebody do something about it; when you were the ‘somebody’ that could have done something and did nothing?” When Americans left their country unguarded, we were easily conquered from within with a foreign-born Muslim communist dictator in control of the White House and the nation. We are now a communist nation and most Americans don’t even know it. I promise you the worst is yet to come. And know this… the ignorant let it happen as a result of their blind right to vote.
Please understand this; I do realize we are outnumbered by the morons in this country, and for this reason I had written letters to members of the Congress and Senate, including our U.S. Supreme Court Justices to amend the 15th, Amendment of the United States Constitution by adding… [Provided the American citizen has a full knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, and American history.] By learning America’s heritage, no one on earth will be able to divide the American people.
One of the biggest problem with some Americans is that they are able to “hear” but they do not “listen.” It’s like a con man pulling a fast one on his his victim. A gullible person.

    • SuperRoadrunner

Sarge, you’re dead right on all points!

Let me add something here that the vast majority of people in this country are totally unaware of: Over five decades ago I read something in a Soviet political playbook

( that my then AFSC enabled me do) which stated that in order to take over a country a full and firm control had to be established over 1) Education, 2) Information, and 3) Internal Security.

Guess what; the first two are pretty much in the bag and now they are working on the third one…

    • grassroot

As lenin said of the people who fell for their crap, they were ” useful idiots.”
They have been using the methods of the fabyan socialists. Slow steady wearing

      down of the opposition.

      • anonymous

Could you provide a quote with a link for that please? I never heard Lenin say that before.

  • Bob Marshall

If you have children in a public school you should visit This DVD is about public schools and the decline of Christianity in America.

  • Ruggedlark

If parents want to see their school get back to principled teaching, they need to become involved. The problem is most parents don’t get involved until there is a perceived problem.

Speaking as a parent of three myself, I know of a terrible teacher in our high school, and in a meeting with a mother and the principal, when “harassment” was brought up, he left the room quickly saying he wanted union representation. His actions have been allowed for years by the administration. His teaching of Spanish is mediocrity, at best. But locking kids out of the classroom, and telling them they are too stupid to pass his class-that in my book is grounds for dismissal.

Pursuing this, even tho its not my child being harassed. Because he will do this to someone else’s child. It takes involvement. People are busy, don’t want to get outraged and pursue things. Like my friend said, she wants to go to work, and her child to get an education.

    • Red Blues

Yes, but at some point *everyone* must take a stand and say ‘enough is enough!’ Good luck getting that slacker teacher canned so he cannot teach. We all have to fight this fight.

  • danclamage

Which explains why democrats have all but outlawed home schooling, and either deny charters to charter schools or heavily regulates them.

  • grassroot

Yes this is what is happening, but consider where hitler is now. Lets look for this ending

of our indoctrinating schools and a turning around to ” good sense”. Is it any wonder that

Glenn Beck and Fcx news is demonized by the ” educated” left?

    • Red Blues

The mantra of the left back in the 60’s was to ‘speak truth to power’

Now is time for the tide to turn and use that same stance on the leftists who control our school classrooms through the Department of (re)Education.

  • tristallyn

I decided to be proactive. I didn’t want anyone teaching my kids except me, so I decided to teach them at home. We make less money, but I will never regret making the decision to home school them. My kids and their future are worth so much more than the lost income!

  • Kukye

I know the kids and even adults in their 40’s are stupid.

They always say ME and my (so and so…)

I hear that from my own nephews and nieces, to Congressman, to very famous people, to educators and people who should know better, you know the ones that went on to college?

Please don’t respect college grads too much, I always tell people it’s because they NEEDED further education then the rest of us to be up to “smarts”.
